A State Bank SA Humphrey B Bear 1970’s Issue Red Plastic Coin Money Box.

Humphrey B Bear has been a very popular childrens TV personality since being introduced in 1965 in Australia.

Condition is good to very good but please review the photographs carefully.

The State Savings Bank of South Australia has had Humphrey money boxes since the 1960’s and through the 1970’s. The 1960’s version is almost identical except that it has only a small round base below Humphreys feet. This 1970s issue has the same small round plinth but a large box structure that he is standing on. This allows for more coins and a removable bung to allow for reuse of the money box. The 1960’s version was a sealed unit that had to be cut open to remove the coins.
